THE ENGINEERING OF TEETH
Reconstructing a mouth full of teeth is no easy matter. It requires great skill, patience, and extensive use of models of the mouth, the head, the bite, the teeth, and the jaw. At the age of sixty three, I decided I needed to do something about the mess in my mouth. My problems were many but primarily it was my bite, which was so discombobulated that with each bite my teeth collided with one another. In addition, my gums were receding and my teeth were beginning to loosen. What a mess! So I made an appointment for a consultation with Dr. Golia. I was immediately impressed with his gentleness and his ability to explain the various processes that would be necessary. None of his explanations, however, were made until he completed a myriad of measurements and tests on my entire mouth. After much deliberation regarding the extensive treatment required in my case and the cost, I decided to go for it. So, the treatment began! First, with a consultation with a periodondist, (Dr. Parnoff), another excellent referral from Dr. Golia. Okay so now I need periodontal work. When that issue was resolved, the next step was the extraction of eight teeth. Then the process began for the implant of six new teeth. And all the while, Dr. Golia continued to take measurements to ensure everything would fit just right. In the capable hands of both Dr. Golia and Dr. Parnoff, I have a new set of teeth with caps, implants, and a permanent bridge. So now not only can I chew without a seismic quake in my mouth, but I also have a mouth full of pretty white teeth.
Throughout the entire process, I never suffered any pain or discomfort. I never even took any of the pills that were prescribed for me. Dr. Golia was extremely patient with me but what I most appreciate about him is that he is a perfectionist, which is exactly what is needed to reconstruct a mouth full of teeth. He would double check every fitting and is very attuned to the needs of his patients. For instance, he never allowed me to leave his office with any missing teeth; he would instead fit me with a temporary partial. And yes I cried at the thought of having my teeth pulled, but he gently reassured me and genuinely understood my distress---not at the anticipation of any pain but the knowledge that I was aging.
In his endeavor to create the perfect mouth of teeth, Dr. Golia also needs the assistance of many other professionals, both within and out of the office. In his wisdom and experience, he has chosen the best----all of his assistants in the office are the best, as well as the best periodondist, the best labs, and the best root canalists ---or whatever you call them--- (Dr. King). All of them are as meticulous as he in what they do.
In the end, it was all well worth it as I plan to live a long, long time with my beautiful teeth.
Our friendship spans decades and I have followed Rob Golia's spectacular career in dentistry since he began his practice. So when it came time to improve my quality of life, especially my disastrous teeth, I chose to entrust reconstruction in his expert hands.
A perfectionist, Dr. Golia used his expertise to transform my mouth while my dear friends and his capable staff (Elizabeth, Cindy, Gladys and Lisa) provided abundant TLC throughout the process.
The end result: no worry chewing and a smile I can be proud of.

I have been a patient of Dr. Golia's for many years and have had the good fortune to have him perform "miracles" in my mouth. My teeth would have been a challenge to anyone but Dr. Golia's creativity, skill and patience surpassed all of my expectations during a recent restoration project. Dr. golia defines perfection and perseverance and his chair-side manner is gentle and respectful. I also appreciate the fact that Dr. Golia continually takes courses to update his skills and bring the latest technology into his practice.
